What I learned surviving cancer twice – Sarah

“People say to you, ‘stay positive, stay positive’, but how do you stay positive? I would always think about the future. I would see myself with my grandchildren. I would see myself on a holiday. It’s actually made me braver. I hate flying and I hadn’t got on a plane for eighteen years. And last year when we went to Spain and all my favourite people were there, I thought, this isn’t as bad as I remember it being. And now my husband is planning a long-haul trip, saying, ‘now that you’ve done it once, we’re going to travel the world’.

So it has changed me, but a lot of it for the positive.”
